iPhone 7 Matte Black vs Jet Black

iPhone 7 Color Comparison: Jet Black vs Matte Black

Apple recently introduced their newest iPhone 7 series in an event last week. One of the highlights during the event was when they announced that the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus will come in two black color options: jet black and matte black.

The smartphones are rated IP67, which means they are able to withstand 30 minutes in one meter of fresh water, and should be completely protected against dust.

The shiny black hue looks quite striking, and this variant of the iPhone 7 is drawing a lot of attention that it could potentially be this year's most wanted color.

However, the excitement surrounding the new high gloss finish Jet Black version of the iPhone 7 and iPhone 7 Plus may be short-lived. Even though the new hue looks stunning, it comes with a problem — scratches.
The Jet Black variant of the iPhone 7 is apparently prone to getting scratched easily. The information comes straight from the horse's mouth, particularly Apple's disclaimer in a footnote on the tech specs page.
"The high-gloss finish of the jet black iPhone 7 is achieved through a precision nine-step anodization and polishing process. Its surface is equally as hard as other anodized Apple products; however, its high shine may show fine micro-abrasions with use," warns Apple.

"If you are concerned about, we suggest you use one of the many cases available to protect your iPhone."

Apple encountered a similar problem with the black finish on the iPhone 5, which started to show wear and tear much faster than other colors.
Angry customers referred to the problem as "scuffgate" and Apple subsequently changed the shade ahead of the release of the iPhone 5S. As always YOU the Customer have to choice

As a reminder, the iPhone 7 is available for pre-order on 5:01pm EST September 9, and will start shipping on September 16.
